Ferretti Group has secured the official authorisation it needed to expand production capacity at its Ancona Superyacht Yard in Italy. Issued under the Special Economic Zone (ZES) framework now in force in the Marche Region, this single authorisation is the first of its kind granted at the Port of Ancona, and raises the maximum length the brand can build at one of its largest production facilities from 90 to 100 metres.
Six-Month Expansion Expected to Bring the Region €30 Million
The expansion, covering a facility within an approximately 80,000-square-metre site, was formalised through an agreement signed on 21 October by Mirco Carloni, President of the Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority, and Giosy Romano, Single Coordinator of the ZES for Southern Italy. Completed after a 54-day approval process, the authorisation reflects the pace of cooperation among the public bodies involved; the company expects the roughly six-month construction project to bring an initial contribution of around €30 million to the local economy and to pave the way for further investment.
“Speed and flawless execution are not just words for us — they are what our brand truly stands for,” said Ferretti Group Global CEO Stassi Anastassov, adding that “Made in Italy” is not a marketing slogan for the company but a description of its identity, heritage and future. Anastassov also thanked the Port Authority, the Marche Regional Government, the Municipality of Ancona and the ZES authorities for their support.
Considered one of Ferretti Group’s most strategic centres for superyacht production, the Ancona yard has previously hosted large-scale projects such as the 67.55-metre Amor à Vida, built under the CRN brand; the new 100-metre threshold places the shipyard in a new position at the top tier of the Italian superyacht industry.
