The homo Faber Biennial, organized by Michelangelo Foundation, opens its doors in Venice, between 1-30 September 2026. The art director of this year is the first time a stage designer is topped: Es Devlin, “An Island of Light” — a light island — gave the contact.
With over 500 craftsmen from more than 70 countries, more than 700 objects are exhibited through 15 immersion installation on the history of the institution. Devlin is inspired by the team of Venetian lagoon — the craftsmen from all over the world are thought to be “ada” and collects all in a common whole called “zanaat waters”; water, mirror and light games formed by movement are accompanied by exhibition venues.
The program is enriched with live shows, participating workshops, gastronomy experiences and private tours; additional exhibitions in Casa Sanlorenzo include regional and international craftsmen. Venice for a month turns into the world’s craft capital once again.
