Blancpain celebrates 70th year of one of the most calm but most persistent names in the date of diving hours, 1968 model reference area with a limited reinterpret. Bathyscaphe was born in 1956 as a sister tailored to the civil use of professional Fifty Fathoms; the new 5903 1110 63A reference brings the lines of that period with today’s production standards.
37,40 millimeter steel case, 300 meters waterproof and 100 hour power reserve provided by automatic caliber 1150, creates the technical spine of the watch. Sunburst meteor grey dial, white gold indexes and hand stitched chocolate color leather strap is moved to the present with modern touches such as sapphire casing back and silicon spiral while staying faithful to the original of 1968. Super-LumiNova, looking for old, makes the watch even more pronounced.
Marc Hayek, CEO of Blancpain, states that Fifty Fathoms is “not a single model, a family” and Bathyscaphe is an important member of this family. This reinterpret, limited to 300 pieces, and presented from 18.300 dollars, reveals one of the most clear definitions of quiet luxury in the watch: not show, loyalty.
