The results of the “Car of the Year in Türkiye” competition, held for the 11th time this year by the Automotive Journalists Association (OGD) and one of the most prestigious events in the automotive world, were announced at a grand ceremony in Istanbul. In the competition, which evaluated models on sale in the Turkish market between February 2025 and February 2026, the sector’s leading brands competed fiercely.
On a night shaped by the test drives and detailed scoring of a jury of expert automotive journalists, German premium manufacturer BMW achieved a remarkable result. The new electric SUV BMW iX3 finished the competition in second place while dominating the special category awards.
Three Awards in Design, Innovation and Premium Categories
Reflecting the new-generation Neue Klasse design language, the BMW iX3 was voted Design of the Year by the jury. Its innovative Panoramic Vision technology was named Innovative Project of the Year, and the model also took the title of Premium Car of the Year.
Bringing together quiet luxury, advanced technology and a sustainable approach to performance, the success highlights the developments shaping the future of competition in the premium segment. Elsewhere at the event, Hyundai took Press Launch of the Year for its EV Tech Day at the Izmit plant, while the overall victory went to the Renault Clio.
