Independent Swiss watchmaker H. Moser & Cie has marked its first full-scale collaboration with the world of sport, unveiling a limited edition with NFL running back Saquon Barkley: the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Aventurine “Saquon Barkley Edition.” Built on the dimensions, construction and finishing of the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton introduced in 2022, the edition is limited to 97 pieces — a nod to Barkley’s birth year.
The stainless-steel case measures 42.8mm across and 15.3mm high over its domed sapphire crystal; the screw-in crown is engraved with Moser’s “M,” the caseback is sapphire, and water resistance is rated to 120 metres. At the centre of the fully skeletonised dial sits a domed aventurine subdial for the hours and minutes, with a one-minute flying tourbillon at six o’clock drawing the eye. The indices at two and six o’clock are luminous in green, a nod to Barkley’s jersey number and the only departure from the rest of the dial.
Inside, the watch runs on Moser’s own HMC 811 calibre: automatic, fully skeletonised, beating at 21,600 vph with a minimum 74-hour power reserve, built from 28 jewels and 171 components, and featuring a cylindrical hairspring with twin Breguet overcoils; the anthracite PVD-finished bridges are diamond-cut and bevelled. The watch is fitted to a white rubber strap secured by a steel pin buckle engraved with the Moser logo.
