Land Rover is adding a new personalization touch to the Defender family, inspired by the ancient history of the Mediterranean: the Alasia Pack. Named after Alasia, the ancient name for the island of Cyprus, the pack nods to the island’s history as one of the ancient world’s great copper-exporting centres. The Defender’s front and rear badging, front grille bar, side vents and rear towing eyes are reworked in a warm, elegant “Cyprus Copper” tone — a subtle detailing exercise that adds a sun-washed, rustic character without disturbing the vehicle’s characteristically clean design language.
The pack is currently offered to European customers and can be ordered across the full range of Defender 90, 110 and 130 body styles. It’s an approach that suits Land Rover’s own take on accessible luxury rather well: giving owners a way to build their own identity without touching the vehicle’s core engineering. Here, luxury isn’t about spectacle — it’s embodied in the care taken over detail.
On the three-door Defender 90, a more practical innovation stands out: an optional spare-wheel delete kit now allows the iconic spare wheel to be removed entirely from the rear door. According to Land Rover, the choice noticeably improves manoeuvrability and rear visibility, particularly on narrow city streets, while retaining bike-carrier compatibility. With an optional front folding jump seat offering seating for up to six, a 40:20:40 split-folding rear row and load space of up to 1,500 litres, the Defender 90 moves visibly closer to everyday city use.
The result is a Defender that winks at city life and a Mediterranean-inflected aesthetic sensibility without giving up any off-road capability. The Alasia Pack is less a technological leap than an elegant demonstration of how the brand distills its personalization philosophy into a single thoughtful detail — and perhaps that’s accessible luxury in its purest form: retelling an icon everyone already knows through one small but meaningful touch.
