Spanish luxury house Loewe has strengthened its retail presence at Istanbul Airport with a new boutique. Developed in partnership with iGA and Unifree Duty Free, the store sits in Zone 5 of the departures floor, at the entrance to Luxury Square, immediately after security. The 69-square-metre boutique marks the latest addition to the brand’s airport retail network.
The store’s interior design draws on Loewe’s flagship Casa Loewe concept. Hand-glazed ceramics in caramel, amber and soft white tones combine with concrete surfaces, brass and marble details, while sculptural ceramic pieces are displayed in the windows. The space features a 1975 glazed ceramic figure, “Made in Port Elizabeth,” by South African artist Hylton Nel, alongside a George III oak cricket table dating to around 1760; a Spanish-made leather Puffer bench and a handwoven wool rug in the women’s footwear area complete the design.
The boutique presents the full women’s collections: ready-to-wear, bags and small leather goods, scarves and shawls, shoes, belts, eyewear, and blankets and cushions. This new Loewe address at Istanbul Airport reaffirms the airport’s ambition to become one of the key stops on the global luxury travel retail map, following a string of fashion house boutique openings in recent years.
