Concierge Auctions, one of the world’s most respected names in luxury real estate auctions, has brought Renamor — a historic estate in Tuxedo Park, just 50 minutes north of New York City — under the hammer. Following 35 days of marketing through the firm’s Hong Kong Global Sale, the property found a buyer at $10.711 million, millions above the highest pre-auction bid; the sale is currently pending confirmation.
Built in 1928 for George S. and Renee Amory — whose combined names gave the estate its own — the 151-acre property is a textbook example of French Provincial architecture, with classic clay-tile roofs, dormer windows and stone-and-stucco façades. The main residence holds a great hall, a formal grand salon, a banquet dining room with its own silver vault, a library, a wine cellar and a private chapel.
The grounds are rounded out by a renovated 1930s guest house of roughly 3,800 square feet, a 4,500-square-foot carriage house, a private boathouse on Tuxedo Lake and a stone-fireplace log cabin. Alongside a pool house, spa, putting green and sand trap, the estate’s geothermal-and-solar microgrid makes fully off-grid living possible.
The sale marks one of the latest chapters in Concierge Auctions’ Hong Kong Global Sale, which has carried international bidders toward New York’s historic estates; the appetite the firm has drawn from across continents this year underscores how global interest in America’s collector-grade historic properties keeps growing.
