Cooper Hewitt in New York, Smithsonian Design Museum opened its permanent collection galleries on 26 June with a new presentation: “Design Across Time: Exploring the Smithsonian’s Design Collection.” The impressions to be exhibited for two years take a selection from the national design collection into the face of this width for the first time.
More than 125 works from fashion, textiles to digital design from the product and graphic design, “Require, Convert, Show, Simplify, Set, Play” are combined in sixmatic sets. Vlisco’s Style Styleetto textiles are among the Royal jewelry cabinet, which was named Stephen Burks’ Roping Stool and 1825-26.
The Museum Director Maria Nicanor says “Cooper Hewitt is largely stored in the warehouse as it is in museums around the world, but it hosts the national design collection, a public source of everyone.” JA Projects signed exhibition design is supported by a new digital collection platform that supports artificial intelligence.
