The precious stone world is rarely witnessed: 71,24 and 72,84 two oval segments of Paraiba turmal consisting of “Luminas” pair, in September 17, the Sotheby’s open increase in Hong Kong. This binary, which has not seen flawless clarity and heat treatment, carries the title of the perfect, heat-treated Paraiba turmalin pair, which matches the largest that has increased open. Estimated value from $382.000 to 510.000.
The story of stones begins in 2003 with the presence of a 830 black raw crystal in the Nampula region of Mozambic. Dear stone hunter Don Kogen discovered this crystal, wife and designer Kat Florence’s hand passed over twenty years of crafty process. 315 blackening is cut from a stone and re-cut crystal, eventually turned into a pair of matches today — a provenance to be explained in generations for a collector.
Another piece that pays attention to the same sale is still signed in Kat Florence, 424,80 pendants with the centerstone of the burial step cut tanzanit. The estimated value of the part defined as the “the largest perfect tanzanit pendant” that increases openly varies from 255.000 to 357,000 dollars.
No heat treated, this size and the introduction of a Paraiba turmalin farm in this clarity is considered as an opportunity to be encountered in ten years for jewellery collectors.
