In Oia, the hilltop village overlooking Santorini’s volcanic caldera and famous sunset, the rooftop restaurant Lycabettus at Andronis Luxury Suites has made Greek culinary history. In the Michelin Guide Greece 2027 selection covering Athens, Thessaloniki and Santorini, the restaurant became the only establishment on the island to hold the distinction, rising straight to two Michelin stars.
The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Christos Karagiannis and Head Chef Petros Brandenburg. Together they craft a modern Greek cuisine that blends seasonal, local produce with French technical discipline, with signature dishes including lobster served with a carrot-bergamot beurre blanc, calamari in red mullet sauce, and a white-peach foie gras panna cotta. The wine program, curated by Amanda Kontinou, draws on a cellar of more than a thousand labels.
Following the award, Chef Karagiannis said it was the reward for six years of work, adding: “Two stars place an enormous responsibility on our shoulders from today onward.” The hotel’s owner is known to have pursued a world-class dining destination on Santorini for two decades; the property’s second restaurant, Lauda at Alta Mare by Andronis, also earned a Michelin star at the same ceremony, bringing the group’s total to three stars on the island.
Lycabettus’s caldera-view terrace is regarded as one of Oia’s most established fine-dining addresses, and this season’s achievement puts Santorini back on the map not only for its sunsets but for its elevated culinary scene.
