Golden Goose’s HAUS Istanbul at Tersane hosted an installation titled “Between Two Shores” throughout the run of Contemporary Istanbul, 24–27 September. Opened in May using a 1940s shipyard structure as its architectural backbone, the venue this time built a narrative linking Venice’s port of Marghera and Istanbul’s Tersane as “two harbours shaped by art and dreams.”
The artist duo Ertuğrul Güngör and Faruk Ertekin brought Venetian iconography together with gold-enriched Anatolian motifs, using leather as a canvas for the first time; carved leather pieces were turned into wearable art through visitor participation, and a limited run of sneakers, clothing and accessories born from the installation was displayed throughout the event. The work of Begüm Güney, who shapes the venue’s year-round art programme, continued to uphold HAUS’s identity of deliberately blurring the line between gallery and store.
Golden Goose describes HAUS Istanbul not merely as a point of sale but as “a platform dedicated to craftsmanship, community and self-expression.” This address, where Tersane’s industrial past intersects with contemporary art, embodies the brand’s ambition to turn the customer experience into a living cultural stage rather than a commercial showcase.
