BMW has unveiled the eighth generation of the 3 Series, the model that has defined the brand’s sporting character for more than five decades. The new generation marks the first 3 Series built on BMW’s “Neue Klasse” architecture, arriving with both fully electric and combustion powertrain options.
The fully electric BMW i3 50 xDrive produces 469 hp and 645 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds with a WLTP range of up to 912 km, and supports DC fast charging up to 400 kW from its 108.7 kWh battery. The more accessible BMW i3 40 xDrive delivers 374 hp and up to 710 km of range. On the performance side, the BMW M350 xDrive pairs a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six with 48V mild-hybrid technology for 443 hp and a 0-100 km/h sprint of 4.1 seconds.
The design merges the kidney grille and twin headlights into a single striking unit, while the cabin introduces a 17.9-inch BMW Panoramic iDrive display, an optional 3D Head-Up Display, and Amazon Alexa+ AI integration. Level 2 driver assistance enables hands-free motorway driving up to 130 km/h across 21 countries.
Combustion versions of the new 3 Series will be built at BMW’s Dingolfing plant in Germany, while the fully electric i3 will roll off the line in Munich. The model is set to reach global markets within 2026.
