Jaguar officially unveiled Type 01, the first production model to carry the brand’s ground-up reinvention into reality, with a world premiere in New York on 6 October. Positioned as a four-door grand tourer, Type 01 carries the design language of the Type 00 concept, first shown in 2024, into its production form; the brand also named Florence Pugh as its first brand ambassador for this new era.
Built on a tri-motor, 850-volt electric architecture, Type 01 produces 757 kW (1,016 hp) and 1,365 Nm of torque, reaching 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. Its 118 kWh battery pack delivers up to 720 km of WLTP range, while 350 kW DC fast charging adds 321 km of range in 13 minutes. The body features a 0.23 Cd drag coefficient, active front cooling vanes and a three-stage deployable rear spoiler that generates 75 kg of additional downforce when extended.
Inside, the cabin features a glassless tailgate with a digital ClearSight display, a brass-finished longitudinal console spine, a 24-inch OLED driver display and a 38-speaker Meridian sound system. Jaguar Managing Director Rawdon Glover described the model as ‘the foundation of the brand, one that makes no compromise between design and engineering.’
With pricing starting at £130,000, order books opening in early 2027 and first deliveries expected in the second half of that year, Type 01 places Jaguar in the ultra-luxury grand tourer segment alongside Bentley and Aston Martin.
