New Volvo ES90 in Turkey: The 696 km Range Electric Flagship

Volvo Cars’ fully electric flagship sedan, the ES90, was introduced in Turkey during a launch night held on the evening of September 30. We caught our first up-close glimpse of the ES90 as it emerged from behind a smoke curtain on a stage outlined in red light. The evening was hosted by Birce Akalay, who is also the face of the ES90 in Turkey.

Performance: 680 hp and 4 seconds

Available for sale in Turkey, the Twin Motor Performance version produces 680 hp (500 kW) of power and 870 Nm of torque via its dual electric motors. Equipped with all-wheel drive, the ES90 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds. The vehicle is built upon the 800-volt electrical architecture that Volvo utilizes in its new-generation electric models.

Range and charging: Approximately 285 km in 10 minutes

Offering a range of up to 696 km according to WLTP standards, the ES90 supports DC fast charging up to 350 kW. The battery charges from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 22 minutes; a mere 10-minute charging stop yields roughly 285 km of range. Standard equipment also includes a pre-conditioning system that automatically heats and cools the battery prior to travel, alongside a Range Assistant that suggests charging stations along the route.

Design: The elegance of a sedan, the practicality of a hatchback

The ES90 combines its coupe-like silhouette with a hatchback-style tailgate. The luggage capacity is 424 liters as standard, expanding to 1,427 liters when the rear seats are folded down. Volvo’s signature “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlights grace the front, while optional HD Pixel LED headlights operate with 20,000-pixel modules. Wheel options ranging from 20, 21, and 22 inches are available, alongside Aurora Silver, Onyx Black, Denim Blue, Mulberry Red, Vapour Grey, and Forest Lake color choices.

Cabin: 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins

Highlights within the cabin include the 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, an electrochromic panoramic roof, and ventilated front seats. The interior is offered in Charcoal Black and Cardamom Beige color options. Built-in Google services—including Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play—are included for four years, while wireless Apple CarPlay comes standard. The software and safety systems of the ES90 run on dual Nvidia DRIVE AGX Orin computers capable of 508 trillion operations per second.
