Rolex brings together four of the rarest examples of the watchmaking craft under one roof: unique Cosmograph Daytona models inspired by the four seasons. Each reflects the spirit of its season through stonework, colour palette and surface finishing; these watches represent the pinnacle of the brand’s jeweller mastery and will never enter series production.
The four watches will be offered as four separate lots at a charity auction held by Phillips in London on September 28. The proceeds will go to the Federer Foundation, founded by Roger Federer, and the Re:wild foundation, of which Leonardo DiCaprio is a partner. The former supports early childhood education in South Africa and Switzerland; the latter focuses on protecting wild ecosystems worldwide.
Rolex CEO Jean-Frédéric Dufour emphasises that with this initiative the brand asserts that ‘true excellence is measured not only by the quality of the product, but also by the positive impact it leaves on the world’. The common denominator of these four watches — among the purest expressions of quiet luxury — is that craftsmanship and philanthropy become simultaneously wearable.
