Neslihan KiyakThe Studio NK, which was founded in nine years ago, crowned the Studio NK with its own podium show in the official program of Amsterdam Fashion Week today. The designer, growing in the Netherlands, but extending its roots to Anatolia, defines this first official show as a “restart”, not in nine years, and everything he sees and inherited as a moment of carrying to the next stage.
“I built Studio NK in a very intuitive way over the past nine years. I wanted to show where I came with the ‘The Passage’ and what I’ve got from it consciously” says Kiyak. “It’s not going to restart a new universe for me; it is to move everything you learn, see and inherit. ”
Studio NK’s signature sculpture silhouettes, strong femininity highlight and architectural forms meet the most personal layer of the brand in “The Passage”: the lace from Kiyak’s own gang. This material stored to be transferred from the bird to the bird is reinterpreted with the contemporary vision of the designer. “I didn’t want to tell my friends at any time by one or with a folklore language” says Kiyak. “What is the main concern to the tradition from the eyes of today’s woman. The lace from the chin carries a date, but it turns out something new to reveal by giving it a reform. ‘The Passage’s essence is that. ”
Kiyak also positions Studio NK as a philosophy of not only a design language, but also a production: collection lives with women’s craftsmen who have not always been easy access to financial independence in workshops in Istanbul and the Netherlands. The same approach shows itself in the business union, which was founded with the jewelry brand Maziya of Inass XXXX of Moroccan origin — two women’s design world that meet the heritage and craft in a common vision.
While the EAVE Cosmetics official beauty partner for the Amsterdam Fashion Week, the new attempt of chef Selin was served to the Turkish delights of Kadem — another greeting to Kiyak’s Turkish heritage.
“We carry where we come from. About us We pass through. ”
