There is a young name that combines the engineering discipline with the design vision behind Koteal, entering the world with a qualified tea experience: Selin Kotil. Kotil born in Istanbul in 1999, graduated from İstanbul Technical University Industrial Engineering department, worked in the fields of brand and digital experience design in corporate companies. This four-year period, which is closely observed the bond and brand storyciness of the consumer with a product, prepared the ground of the decision to build their own initiative.

The “Kotil” surname, which gives the name to the brand, points the family bond and sharing culture behind the story. The exit point of Koteal is a special blend recipe that has been brewed in family tables for many years and collects everyone from taste. Kotil is accompanied by morning breakfast in Turkish culture, which is indispensable for evening chats, he thinks that this rooted habit is becoming increasingly ordinary; the quality of the product available in the market and the right of the ritual of the presentation format. The brand is fully born from this space.
Today we are familiar with the details that push tea lovers: the powders that smear the glass, the necessity of criticizing before brewing, despite this, the clarity that can not be caught, and the dominant taste, which suffered in a short time. The main element that separates Koteal in the category is the first exile in which the large part of the blend is collected from the most qualified leaves — that is, “May harvest”. These leaves pass through a two-stage particulate process in production; the result is a smooth profile, which eliminates the need for screening, protects the clarity of the glass and not hurt even after hours of detention. The brand also states that it offers a highly efficient yield compared to standard blends.

The long-term goal of Kotil refers to a broader transformation: “We aim to lead a similar transformation of black tea in our country, such as the value that the coffee culture has gained from qualified segments in recent years.” “A familiar and warm ritual that touches every moment in our culture. We also build a holistic structure that modernizes this habit for tea lovers who care about taste, quality and sensory experience.” The first product that carries the name Verna — 850 grams of special blend consisting of 50 pieces of demlik sachet tea — the first step in the shelf of the brand “May’s Dear Heritage”.
